FAQ

FAQ

What is the cost of fees?

After holding our fee levels for the last 2 years, the Club Committee has increased our fees by 5% from 2025 levels due to increases in operating costs.

2026 Fees

  • Miniroos Boys* (U8–U11) $550
  • Miniroos Girls* (U8–U11) $445
  • Juniors Boys* (U12–U18) $650
  • Juniors Girls* (U12–U18) $500
  • Senior Mens / Womens Team $475

* All Miniroos and Juniors fees are based on a volunteer/parent coach. If a paid coach is required for a team, the Coach Allocation Policy applies.

What are the payment terms for registrations?

Full payment of fees is due prior to season start. NO PAY = NO PLAY.

Direct Debit Payment plans are also available to families when they register online.

Are there discounts available on fees?

Yes, we offer family sibling discounts: 10% for the second child, 15% for additional children.

The club also offers fee rebates to coaches, team managers and those serving important club roles like committee members.

What do players get for uniforms in 2026?

All Miniroos & Junior players will receive:

  • Club Playing Jersey, Shorts and Socks
  • Club Training Jersey
  • An additional item (to be confirmed)

How do I get my playing uniform?

Once teams have been selected and players are paid up and registered, we will commence the uniform handout prior to the season start.

What do the fees pay for?

Although KUSC runs entirely on volunteers, the club fee covers the overall running costs of the club including training and game balls, equipment, team kits, preseason and season ground rental and light use, coach training programs, team photos, awards and presentation day, and administration and expenses needed to keep over 300 kids playing soccer.

Personal items such as boots and shin guards are not covered and must be provided individually. For more detail on this, click here.

What age group should my child be in?

Age groups are selected by year of birth. The age your child turns that year is their team — e.g., if turning 11 in 2026, they play Under 11s.

How does Knox United select their coaches & is it possible that I need to pay extra for an external coach?

Our fee structure is based on parent volunteers coaching our teams. If no parent or volunteer is available, a paid external coach may be required.

When will the teams be picked?

Miniroos and Junior team formations aim to be completed before Christmas 2025 and finalised in February 2026. If positions remain open, they’ll be advertised via the club website, emails, and social media.

When does the Miniroos/Junior season start & finish?

Season 2026 dates are yet to be confirmed. The Miniroos/Junior season is expected to begin on April 26, 2026, and finish in September. Finals for U12+ teams commence after regular season if they finish top of their league. Visit our Club Diary page for all relevant dates.

What day do we play matches?

  • Little Champs — Saturday mornings
  • Miniroos (U8–U11) — Sunday
  • Junior Teams (U12–U17) — Sunday
  • Senior Mens/Womens Teams — Saturday

Where do we play matches?

Games are generally within the area between Glen Waverley, Doncaster, Richmond, and sometimes out to Monbulk or Healesville. Travel times average 15–20 minutes, occasionally up to 45 minutes.

The season is a home-and-away format, so half of matches are played at other clubs’ grounds.

What time do we play matches?

Match times vary by club and age group. Generally, younger teams play earlier, but schedules depend on each club’s facilities and availability.

What days does my team have training on?

Training days are set by the Club and your Coach based on coach and ground availability. Pre-season sessions usually commence in late February.

Do I need to stay with my child while they train?

Yes. Coaches need to contact a guardian in case of issues or injuries. Please stay nearby or advise your coach or team manager if you need to leave.

What do I wear to training?

Shin pads must be worn at all times. During the season, soccer boots and training tops are required. Bring your own drink bottle as canteens may not always be open.

What kind of boots & shin pads do I need?

Soccer and AFL boots are interchangeable. Second-hand boots can be found via the club boot bin or online. Shin guards are based on your child’s height and available at most sports stores.

Do we train/play if it's raining?

Soccer is a winter sport — games and training continue rain, hail, or shine. Sessions may be cancelled for unsafe pitch conditions, and games only cancelled in lightning.

Are the players covered by insurance?

The Club carries basic player insurance via Football Victoria. Players/guardians are responsible for any additional cover required.

Note: Although players are covered under Football Victoria’s Group Personal Accident Insurance during games and training, the Club is not liable for any costs not covered by this insurance.
