The governing body of soccer in Victoria, Football Federation Victoria, has only recently changed the structure of Small Sided Football from Under 7's to Under 11's in 2010.
This has been in response to feedback from clubs following the 2009 season.
The main changes, noted in the guidelines are:
- Under 7’s operating in a 4-a-side intra club/club hub format
- the Under 9’s playing a 7 vs 7 fixtured league with no points or tables
- the Under 11’s will play a 9 vs 9 fixtured league with points and ladders.
- Please note that results from the Under 11’s competition will have no bearing on the Under 12’s for the following year.

This means that this years program schedule, fees & training nights will need to be reviewed to reflect these changes.
One of the most important things to understand about these changes is that all of these programs will require greater participation from parents and volunteers in order to help your children enjoy the experience of playing soccer. I can speak from experience that you too will definitely benefit from being an active participant, whether as a game leader, co-ordinator or administrator so please put your hand up to help.
